Pontoon Boat and Lift

When you arrive at the lake house, the pontoon boat will likely be on the lift.

It will be tied up at the front by a white rope.

To use the pontoon boat, you must first lower the lift. To use the lift, please watch the following video, and follow the instructions for the push button lift.

Now that the boat is on the water, use the four blue dock lines to secure the boat to the boat slip. Make sure to do this first – the boat should be secure while you load up gear, remove cover, etc. Please note that the dock lines are measured to fit the boat – there is no need to unwind them.

Knot them like this:

When the boat is secured, you may remove the cover and stow it in the storage bin on the boat slip. The cover is secured by snaps and Velcro, and there are four poles in the center which raise the cover. These poles are adjustable but are currently set to the perfect height for the boat. To save yourself time later, you can leave them at their present height. The front and back of the boat cover are labelled on the interior. The boat can remain at the dock without its cover for short periods, but the cover should go back on if the boat will be out of use for an entire day.

The key for the boat is in the downstairs common area in a soft-pack cooler. When you start the boat, you’ll turn the key in the ignition, as well as switch the power to "ON" on the console. The key controls the motor, and the power switch controls all electrical systems. BOTH MUST BE TURNED OFF WHEN YOU ARE DONE USING THE BOAT.

When you are ready to return the boat to the dock, pilot the boat so the front is facing the shore.

Bring the boat as close as you comfortably can to the front of the slip. 6” – 12” from the front is great. Make sure both the ignition and the power is off, then re-tie your four blue dock lines. Cover boat if necessary. Follow the instructions in the above video to lift the boat out of the water, following the instructions for a push button lift.
